The Nursing Department at Al-Kafeel Super Specialty Hospital in Karbala organized a specialized training workshop on the VAC System, a negative pressure wound therapy device considered among the advanced technologies used worldwide in wound care and treatment.

Mr. Mohammed Kamil, Director of the Nursing Department, stated that the hospital continuously seeks to provide high-quality medical services by adopting modern technologies. He emphasized that this system enables patients to receive wound care around the clock, both inside and outside the hospital, under the supervision of highly experienced nursing staff.

For his part, Mr. Mohammed Ali, a representative of the manufacturing company, explained that the device represents a significant advancement in the treatment of complex and chronic wounds, particularly diabetic foot wounds, helping reduce complications that may otherwise progress to amputation.

He added that the system helps remove purulent discharge, promotes restoration of blood flow to the wound area, accelerates the healing of pressure ulcers and helps resolve bone infections, and contributes to reducing pain and patient suffering.

Mr. Ali noted that introducing this technology is part of Al-Kafeel Super Specialty Hospital’s strategy to modernize its Diabetic Foot Clinic and apply the latest international standards to ensure high-quality healthcare services for patients.
