A specialized orthopedic and spine surgery team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala successfully performed a lumbar spine stabilization surgery using advanced endoscopic techniques for a young woman.
Dr. Ahmed Qutub explained in a press interview that the patient, a 25-year-old woman, presented with severe back and leg pain and weakness in her right lower limb. Clinical examinations and MRI scans revealed lumbar disc herniations at the L4-L5 vertebrae.
Dr. Qutub stated, "We conducted a procedure to remove the herniated discs and decompress the spinal cord using an endoscopic technique through very small incisions, not exceeding 6 mm. The procedure was performed at Al-Kafeel Hospital, leveraging its state-of-the-art equipment and advanced technology."
The orthopedic surgeon noted that this minimally invasive approach significantly reduces recovery time, enabling patients to walk pain-free just a few hours after the procedure.
