A specialized neurosurgery team at Alkafeel Hospital in Karbala has successfully performed a spinal stabilization surgery and relieved spinal cord compression for a 61-year-old patient.
Dr. Hussam Al-Anbari stated in a press interview that the patient presented with chronic pain radiating from her back to her legs, accompanied by persistent numbness in both limbs and foot drop.
Dr. Al-Anbari explained that despite the patient’s medical history of diabetes and hypertension, surgical intervention was necessary to address her condition. During the procedure, the team successfully stabilized the L2, L3, L4, L5, and S1 vertebrae and decompressed the nerve roots, alleviating the pressure on the spinal cord.
The surgeon confirmed that the operation was a success, allowing the patient to regain her health and mobility. This achievement highlights the advanced surgical expertise and cutting-edge resources available at Alkafeel Hospital to manage complex spinal cases effectively
