Endoscopic Surgery Relieves Spinal Compression for a Young Woman

A specialized orthopedic and spinal surgery team at Alkafeel Hospital in Karbala has successfully performed lumbar spine stabilization surgery on a 25-year-old woman using advanced endoscopic techniques.

Dr. Ahmed Qutb stated in a press interview that the patient presented with severe back and leg pain, accompanied by weakness in her right lower limb. Clinical examinations and MRI imaging revealed herniated discs at the L4 and L5 vertebrae.

Dr. Qutb explained that the surgical team performed a procedure to remove the herniated discs and decompress the spinal cord using an endoscopic technique. This was accomplished through very small incisions, no larger than 6 millimeters. He emphasized that this procedure was made possible by the advanced equipment and technology available at Alkafeel Hospital.

The orthopedic surgeon highlighted that this minimally invasive approach significantly shortens recovery time, allowing patients to walk pain-free within hours after the surgery.

This successful procedure demonstrates Alkafeel Hospital's commitment to utilizing state-of-the-art medical technologies to improve patient care and outcomes.
