A specialized ophthalmology team at Alkafeel Hospital in Karbala has successfully performed a strabismus correction surgery for a young girl suffering from alternating esotropia.
In a press statement, Dr. Husham Al-Omaidi explained that the 8-year-old girl from Karbala was diagnosed with alternating esotropia. She underwent a comprehensive ophthalmologic evaluation, including visual acuity assessment, extraocular muscle examination, and anterior and posterior segment evaluation, which helped determine the degree of strabismus.
Dr. Al-Omaidi further noted that, based on the assessment, the surgical procedure was performed successfully, restoring both the cosmetic appearance and functional movement of the eyes.
