Dr. Ridhwan Al-Taie, a consultant in maxillofacial surgery, announced the successful completion of a complex reconstructive surgery for an 18-year-old patient from Karbala who was suffering from congenital craniofacial skeletal deformities.
Dr. Al-Taie explained that radiological examinations revealed multiple skeletal anomalies, including maxillary descent, mandibular retrusion, nasal septal deviation, and hypertrophy of the nasal turbinates.
The medical team developed a comprehensive treatment plan, which involved advanced reconstructive surgery. The procedure included maxillary osteotomy, septoplasty, nasal turbinate reduction, maxillary impaction (bone height reduction), mandibular setback, and chin contouring.
Dr. Al-Taie confirmed that all surgical interventions were performed in a single operation, utilizing state-of-the-art techniques and the expertise of the specialized surgical team at the Craniofacial and Neurosurgery Center of Alkafeel Hospital.
