A specialized medical team at Alkafeel Hospital has successfully performed a total hip replacement for a 60-year-old woman from Karbala who had been suffering from chronic pain in her lower back, hip, and knees.
Dr. Ahmed Neamah Al-Taie, a consultant in orthopedic and trauma surgery at the hospital, explained that the patient underwent a series of diagnostic evaluations, including MRI scans, which revealed advanced avascular necrosis of the hip joint along with early signs of osteoarthritis.
“After the failure of conservative treatment methods, the medical team decided to proceed with a total hip replacement,” Dr. Al-Taie stated. “Despite the complexity of the case, such surgeries are considered routine procedures at Alkafeel Hospital, performed regularly by our orthopedic team.”
Dr. Al-Taie emphasized the team's extensive experience in managing geriatric cases and confirmed the success of the operation, noting that the patient is now on the path to recovery with a significant reduction in pain and improved mobility.
