Precision Surgery to Remove a Tumor Occupying Both Brain Lobes of a Child from Karbala

Neurosurgeon Relieves Child of a Large Brain Tumor – Patient Fully Conscious Post-Surgery
A neurosurgical team at Alkafeel Hospital in Karbala has successfully performed a complex brain surgery on a 9-year-old child from Karbala who was suffering from a large brain tumor. Dr. Hussam Al-Anbari stated that the tumor was located above the pituitary gland and was occupying both the right and left hemispheres of the brain, noting that its large size significantly increased the complexity of the surgical procedure. “We were able to successfully remove the tumor in its entirety, and the patient left the operating room fully conscious, which is a notable indicator of the surgery’s success,” Al-Anbari added. He further explained that this operation marks an important step in the treatment of patients with large brain tumors and demonstrates the capability of the hospital’s neurosurgical team in managing highly complex cases.
