A specialized surgical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala has successfully performed a complex, high-precision total hip replacement (arthroplasty) for a 61-year-old patient suffering from a right femoral neck fracture compounded by multiple comorbidities, after several other hospitals were unable to intervene due to surgical risks and limited specialized capabilities.

Consultant Orthopedic, Trauma, and Joint Surgeon, Dr. Ihsan Al-Faraj, stated that the 61-year-old patient arrived at the hospital in severe pain and completely immobilized by the fracture. He emphasized that the patient’s clinical status presented a substantial challenge owing to chronic, multi-system health conditions.

Dr. Al-Faraj explained that several medical centers had turned the patient away due to the absence of advanced medical infrastructure required to manage such high-risk clinical cases. However, the modern technologies and advanced clinical capabilities available at Al-Kafeel Hospital enabled the surgical team to admit him immediately and perform the operation with complete success under the highest medical safety standards.

He added that the medical team performed a total hip arthroplasty, noting that the patient is currently making a full recovery. Dr. Al-Faraj affirmed that the advanced surgical and perioperative techniques employed will significantly shorten rehabilitation time, allowing the patient to mobilize and walk on the first postoperative day.

The consultant trauma surgeon indicated that the patient will be able to resume his normal activities of daily living following the completion of his prescribed physical therapy regimen.
