Successful Surgery Helps Young Patient Recover from Femoral Fracture and Arterial Injury
A specialized orthopedic, trauma, and joint surgery team at Al-Kafeel Super Specialty Hospital successfully treated a young patient from Al-Samawah who sustained a femoral fracture associated with an injury to an artery supplying the right lower limb.
Dr. Muhannad Al-Shammari stated that the 18-year-old patient presented with a severe femoral fracture accompanied by damage to an artery supplying the lower extremity, placing the viability of the right limb at risk.
The surgical team performed fracture fixation using a locked intramedullary nail, along with bone grafting to reinforce the damaged bone. Revascularization was then successfully performed to restore blood flow to the affected limb.
Dr. Al-Shammari confirmed that the procedure was completed successfully. Initial results showed a clear improvement in blood flow and limb movement, reflecting the expertise of the medical team and the advanced surgical techniques available at the hospital.
