A medical team specialising in orthopaedics, fractures and joint surgery at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital in Karbala has announced the successful completion of a complex and precise surgical procedure on a patient suffering from severe deformities in both her right and left leg bones.

Dr Mustafa Walid stated, “A 19-year-old patient from Karbala came to us at Al-Kafeel Hospital with an advanced case of structural deformity in her legs. Upon her arrival, she was admitted to hospital and underwent all necessary clinical and radiological examinations with the utmost precision to assess the extent of the damage and plan the optimal surgical intervention.”

Walid added, “The medical decision was taken to perform surgery to correct the deformity by cutting the leg bone and fixing it using an internal locking plate,” noting that “the right leg has been successfully corrected, and the patient is currently undergoing close monitoring and is in good health with her general condition fully stable.”

The orthopaedic and trauma surgeon explained, “We carried out the first stage of the operation on the right leg, with the second operation on the left leg to be performed four months from now, in accordance with the established treatment protocol to ensure optimal bone healing and the patient’s natural recovery of full mobility.”
