A medical team specialising in orthopaedics, fractures and joints at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital has announced that it has successfully relieved the suffering of a young patient who had sustained a complex fracture to the anterior column of the acetabulum, using a minimally invasive surgical procedure.

Dr Muhannad Al-Shammari stated, “The young patient presented at the hospital suffering from a severe injury involving a fracture of the anterior column of the acetabulum; this is a delicate injury that requires precise surgical intervention and a high level of expertise to avoid any future complications affecting joint mobility.”

Al-Shammari added, “We performed a specialised and advanced procedure to stabilise the anterior column of the acetabulum, using a minimally invasive approach via an incision no larger than 2 cm, which minimises tissue damage and accelerates bone healing.”

The specialist in orthopaedic, trauma and joint surgery emphasised that “the initial results of the operation were excellent by all measures; the patient was discharged from hospital in good health and with a stable recovery, paving the way for his gradual return to his normal life.”
